Word and Sacrament

The order of a great tradition worship service is like a tent with two great tentposts—Word and Sacrament. In the first half of the service we read the Word of God, hear it taught, affirm it by reciting the creed, and confess where we have not followed it. In the second half of the service we respond to the Gospel preached in the Word with the Gospel enacted at the table. Whether your tradition calls it the Lord's Supper, Eucharist, the Mass, or Communion—the table invites us to participate in salvation story that we read in Scripture. 

Every Sunday the church encounters the life transforming presence of Jesus in Jesus' word and at Jesus' table. The church then lives its life together and in each of our households as lives of Word and Sacrament to those who do not know Jesus. We speak his Word and live in his name. We invite others to our tables and join them at theirs. As the church filled with the Holy Spirit, we carry the presence of Jesus in us and with us as the sacrament of his presence in our neighborhoods.  

The design features a distinctive font treatment over a gothic archway on the back. On the front, the text sits on the chest.  

About the Shirt:
